Yachts with a "(C)" after the name are club owned. These yachts are expected to be sailed by different crews and therefore do not have a Progressive Handicap calculated. These yachts remain on their base handicap.
The one-design handicaps define the base or initial handicap allocated to a yacht that complies with their class rules. Thereafter the FYCA Progressive handicap will be applied based on the yacht's performance.
Handicaps shown with a trial number (TN) status are provisional. These will be re-assesses and if necessary adjusted by the handicap committee after 6 assessable race results have been provided.
The regular crew number has been provided. This is intended to be used to assess if a yacht complies with Restricted Sail option of racing short handed(see FIG sailing instructions). The crew number has no bearing on yachts racing with spinnakers or yachts racing under the Restricted Sail option for reasons other than short handed crew.

For the purposes of the handicap lists, the distinction of with and without guard rails controls the crew's ability to hike or not. Yachts sailing with guard rails shall not permit any crew member crew to hike (i.e. have their torso outboard the sheerline of the hull). Yachts with part length guard rails that allow the crew to hike shall be handicaped as 'no guard rails'.
