Richard Millar of Scottish Canals announced on Monday 29th January that the F&C canal will be unavailable for Sea to Sea transit during this whole year due to major engineering failures with the Bonnybridge and the Twechar opening road bridges and insufficient funds available to carry out full operability repairs!
The Caledonian and Crinan canals are operating as advertised.
Coincidentally, Scottish Canals have implemented a substantial management reshuffle, so you may need to check on your operational contacts for the system.
