The River Forth is now open for business

Get access to the River Forth free of charge!

Click here to book the pontoon online.

From berthing to spend some time in Stirling or for access to the river for kayaking, canoeing and sailing, the pontoon is multi-functional and here to meet the needs of residents and visitors. The pontoon is completely free of charge to use but requires a booking 24 hours in advance of your visit. Currently booking is available from 9am – 4pm Monday – Friday.

Both recreational and commercial operators can book online to gain access to the water using the new Shore Road pontoon, which aims to make the River Forth a key feature for the city again for the first time since the 1940s.

The state-of-the-art pontoon and access walkway rise and fall with the tide and is designed to be wheelchair compliant. The landing stage is 30 metres long, with an additional five metre section for rowing boats and kayaks.

The pontoon has limited parking and is a short walk from the railway station in City Centre, so is ideally located for connectivity and for access to the live entertainment, shopping and historic attractions Stirling has to offer.

For more information on the pontoon or using the River Forth, please contact the team.
