Hardy boats are known for their exceptional seaworthiness and rugged go anywhere capability. The protected wheelhouse with walkaround decks, high stainless steel guardrails and solid sturdy GRP displacement hull with twin cast iron bilge keels give reassuring stability in rough seas. This pocket motor sailor is easily managed single handed ideal for family trips exploring or fishing.
Main engine 18HP Volvo Penta 2002 diesel inboard, auxiliary Honda 10HP outboard (outboard new 2022). Sails originally designed by Colin Mudie are primarily intended to provide steadying assistance while motoring or to act as auxiliary propulsion under favourable wind conditions. The relatively small sail area (170 sq ft – sails new in 2020 and in excellent condition) relative to its heavy displacement makes stable and efficient progress with the wind on the beam.
There are 2 solar panels one for each battery, so each adventure starts with fully charged batteries.
The wheelhouse feels very spacious with excellent head room, and comprises helm and navigator seats, traditional ship’s wheel, sunroof / hatch, and galley sink & 2 burner stove. Garmin fish finder / echo sounder.
The lower cabin provides an additional 3 crew seats / 2 sleeping berths, plus plenty of storage lockers / space.
Forward cabin provides even more storage space plus a proper sea toilet (new 2023).
