This year, due to an adjustment of the staff rosters, we hope to be able to offer more flexibility providing it doesn’t prevent absolute ‘core’ tasks (e.g. water control or weed management) getting done. Therefore whilst we can only guarantee transit Friday to Monday, we hope to be able to more frequently offer transits on other days. This is subject to us receiving a few days’ notice so we can plan tasks and manning levels, and confirm with the customer if we can accommodate passage on a given day, and the surcharge of £60 per day will apply.
This additional charge will go some way towards (but unlikely to cover entirely) additional costs/overtime incurred to bring staff in on additional days (Tuesday to Thursday) if they are available and we need them to allow both core tasks, and boat transits, to be delivered on a given day.
